Effect of different tin neodecanoate and calcium–zinc heat stabilizers on the thermal stability of PVC

Abstract Heat stabilizers are crucial additives for enhancing the thermal stability of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) during processing. Among various heat available, organic tin compounds have shown remarkable effectiveness. In this study, we investigated use dimethyltin dineodecanoate (DMTDN), dibutyltin (DBTDN), and dioctyltin (DOTDN) as PVC. These were combined with calcium stearate (CaSt 2 ) zinc (ZnSt to improve PVC materials. The results demonstrated that stabilization effects three neodecanoates, when used standalone stabilizers, followed order: DOTDN > DBTDN DMTDN. Notably, lubricity three-component stabilizer (MTN 5 -C 4 Z 1 , BTN OTN respectively), which consisted types neodecanoate, CaSt ZnSt in a ratio 5:4:1, outperformed neodecanoate alone. This study offered potential formulations reduce application cost stabilizer.
